Projecting on the V&A Waterfront | Silo Hotel & Zeitz MOCAA
Preferred supplier
Cape Lasers remain’s the go-to supplier for projections on the V&A Waterfront buildings. Our depth of experience with the venue, as well as the time we have been working there result in a seamless operation for all parties.
Zeitz MOCAA Silos
The silos are a truly iconic landmark of Cape Town, situated in one of the highest market value foot traffic areas in the city. Surrounded by various restaurants, this fifty metre wide by thirty metre tall structure formed part of the port’s original grain silos prior to being developed into the Zeitz MOCAA museum. With the help of advanced projection technology, Cape Lasers is able to light up the facade with imagery and 3D immersive projection mapping.
*NB: The V&A Waterfront requires that content projected on the Silos CANNOT simply be a commercial ad (many clients have been declined permission). The content MUST have creative projection mapping elements that add value to the space through a creative display. We assist clients in ensuring their content complies with the venue’s requirements.
Port Captain’s Building
While smaller than the silos, the Port Captain’s Building offers a fantastic location for projected imagery. Located between the VA waterfront and the silo district, the projection can be viewed from the clock tower and also along a swing bridge. The building can be projected on across the water, creating a beautiful reflection effect. We are actively projecting on this landmark for clients and can assist you with both technical and creative execution.
Zeitz MOCAA Upper Courtyard
- * Client must have booked the Zeitz MOCAA upstairs venue in order to project in the courtyard
- The upper courtyard is situated on the top floor of the museum and looks over the city and the waterfront with breathtaking views. The courtyard forms part of the venue hire of the top floor, and therefore there is no additional fee to project here. The 3 silos offer an incredible opportunity to do unique 3D projected shows and presentations customized to clients’ needs. We regularly project on the three silos at the back of the courtyard and our clients are always amazed by the quality and end result.
