3D Immersive Event Visuals for Xero’s Annual Conference
In the video, you’ll see the final result of a two-month creative journey that brought Xero’s vision to life across two of South Africa’s premier venues. For the cloud-based accounting software leader’s World Tour, we delivered a complete experiential package spanning 3D content creation, creative direction, and sound design for an opening performance that set the tone for their entire event.
Over 1,000 accountants, business owners, Xero employees, and partners gathered at both the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg and the Cape Town Convention Center to experience what would become a five-minute spectacle that fused technology, performance art, and brand storytelling.
The Vision
Xero came to us with a clear goal: energize their audience. Their annual World Tour needed an opening that would immediately capture attention and set an electric tone for the day ahead. The theme centered on energy, charging, currents, and electricity. They wanted something that felt dynamic and powerful, something that would resonate with their forward-thinking audience while staying true to their brand identity.
What we appreciated most was the creative freedom they gave us. While the objectives were clear, Xero trusted our vision to bring their concept to life. That trust allowed us to push creative boundaries and deliver something truly memorable.

The Technical Challenge
The setup was anything but conventional. Five separate LED screens spanning nearly 100 meters created a canvas unlike anything we’d worked with before. Each screen required its own custom video design, all synchronized to create one seamless visual experience. Add to that aerial dancers and ground performers whose movements needed to sync perfectly with the content, and you have a production puzzle that demanded precision.
We pre-choreographed every element over two months of development. By the time we arrived at each venue for implementation, the dance sequences, aerial movements, and visual content were calibrated to match down to the second. The 6K resolution delivery ensured every detail remained crisp and vibrant across the massive display.
The Creative Approach
We started with Xero’s iconic X’s and O’s from their logo and built outward. To give the content a distinctly South African flavor, we incorporated warm colors like oranges and burnt reds, along with dynamic splashes of paint that felt organic and alive. This grounded the global brand in the local context while maintaining their modern, tech-forward aesthetic.
The energy theme manifested through neon accents and cyan blues that pulsed, charged, and sparked across all five screens. We created sequences where electricity seemed to arc between screens, building anticipation and momentum. Energy bolts cascaded across the full 100-meter span while particles appeared to emit from the dancers’ hands, creating the illusion that they were conducting the visual symphony around them.
One particularly striking moment featured the aerial performer spinning mid-air as a digital whirlwind swirled around her across all five screens, the content responding to her rotation in real-time precision.
The Performance
The five-minute opening brought together ground performers and an aerial dancer in a choreographed display that merged human movement with 3D projection mapping. As performers moved in sync with the visuals, the effect was transformative. The technology didn’t overshadow the artistry; instead, it amplified it.
The finale delivered the moment everyone remembers. The aerial performer, suspended high above the stage with particles seemingly flying from her body, executed a dramatic 15-meter silk drop. As she unfurled and plummeted toward the stage, the screens reacted in kind, finally revealing Xero’s logo in a powerful brand moment that brought the narrative full circle.
The response was immediate. Screams, shouts, and sustained applause filled both venues as audiences processed what they’d just witnessed.
The Result
Traveling from Johannesburg to Cape Town to implement the production in both convention centers reinforced what we already knew: when creative vision, technical precision, and collaborative trust come together, the result speaks for itself. Xero’s team was overjoyed with the outcome, and frankly, so were we.
This project exemplified what we do best: taking a client’s vision and translating it into an immersive experience that doesn’t just communicate a message but makes people feel something. The blend of aerial performance, synchronized choreography, and large-scale 3D content creation created an opening act that energized exactly as intended.
